Cosby Named Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant Coach

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball head coach Tom Heil has announced the addition of Jameel Cosby as a graduate assistant coach.

"First, I would like to thank Coach Heil and Coach Schmidt for trusting me with this opportunity to be a part of the men's basketball coaching staff," Cosby said. "I am very excited to use all my abilities to help work with these student-athletes."

Cosby comes to BW after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in sport management and playing four years of basketball at Bluffton University. As a student-athlete, he was an All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) first-team selection and was named the Bluffton Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award winner. During his career, Cosby appeared in 82 games with 76 starts. He scored 1,218 career points, grabbed 455 rebounds, dished out 206 assists, added 90 steals and had 36 blocks. Off the court, he was an Academic All-HCAC selection.

In addition, Cosby served coach for Huntsman Elite where he was an individual trainer for middle school, high school, and college players.  Cosby taught and encouraged those players on and off the court.

He currently is the co-owner of Halftime Hoops that provides news updates, highlights, and scores from around the NBA on Instagram.

The Yellow Jackets opens the season on Saturday, November 12 when they play their home opener against Hiram College in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 6:00 p.m.
