BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball pulled off an overtime victory against Heidelberg University in overtime by a final score of 80-77 inside the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW Leaders (9-9, 5-6 OAC)

• Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC guard Anthony Mazzeo (North Canton/Massillon Jackson) led the way with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
• Senior forward Jackson Simmons (Wadsworth) posted his third double-double of the season with 10 points, 11 boards and two blocks.
• Sophomore guard Ashton Price (Bay Village/Bay) added 15 points.

Heidelberg Leaders (12-6, 7-4 OAC)

• Sophomore guard Isaiah Young led all scorers with 23 points.
• Senior All-OAC guard Emmanuel Perdue added 15 points.
• Junior guard Zane Leitwein contributed 15 points.

First Half (38-29 BW)

• Emmanuel Perdue got the action started with a fast break layup off a Yellow Jacket turnover.
• A 14-2 BW run capped off by a junior guard Luke Driscoll (Carmel, Calif./Stevenson School) gave BW an early 19-6 lead.
• Another 7-2 run by the Yellow Jackets forced a Student Princes timeout with 8:07 left in the half and BW leading 23-13.
• Heidelberg came out of the timeout hot with a 16-5 run to regain a 29-28 lead with 3:29 left in the half.
• The Yellow Jackets ended the half on a 10-0 run to take a 38-29 lead into the half.
• Freshman guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) led all scorers with nine first half points.
• Mazzeo added eight points, seven rebounds and four assists.
• Senior forward Seth Hohman and sophomore guard Isaiah Young tied for the Student Princes lead with eight points and four rebounds. 

Second Half (71-71 Tied)

• Mazzeo gave BW a 12 point lead after scoring the first four points of the half.
• Heidelberg had a response as they went on a 7-0 run just three minutes in the half.
• The Yellow Jackets regained a 10 point lead with 11 minutes left in the half off a Price layup.
• Over the final four minutes of the half, the Student Princes went on a 10-0 run to send the game to overtime.
• Mazzeo led the BW scoring with 11 points.
• Sophomore forward Jarred Logan (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) added seven points and a team leading three rebounds.
• Heidelberg had three scorers in double figures Leitwan led all scorers with 13 second half points.

Overtime (80-77 BW)

• The two squads traded buckets as Price and Simmons made layups to keep things tied at 75-75.
• Logan made the final basket to give the Yellow Jackets an 80-77 lead.
• Defense shined the last 1:15 as both teams were held scoreless, and a buzzer beater clanked off the rim for the Student Princes.

BW is back in action on Saturday, January 28th when it hosts Marietta College in the first game of an OAC men's and women's doubleheader inside the Urpsrung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 2:00 p.m.
