BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior men's basketball forward Kyle Payne (Brunswick) has been namd as a 2013-2014 D3hoops.com Division III Preseason All-American. He enters his senior season hoping to lead the Yellow Jackets to an Ohio Athletic Conference title and a spot in the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament.
A four-year starter, three-time All-OAC selection and the OAC Freshman of the Year in 2010-2011, Payne comes into the season with 1,152 points after averaging 16.6 points and 6.2 rebounds-per-game a year ago for the 19-6 overall Yellow Jackets. He was tabbed third-team All-Great Lakes Region a year ago by D3hoops.com.
Payne and the Yellow Jackets open the 2013-2014 season on Tuesday, November 19 when they host Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University at 8:00 p.m. in the nightcap of a women's and men's doubleheader in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center at 8 p.m. BW then travels to Wooster, Ohio to play No.8-ranked The College of Wooster in the first round of the Al Van Wie Tournament on Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m.
