Yellow Jacket Baseball Trio Earns All-OAC Honors

BEREA, OHIO -- Three Baldwin-Wallace college baseball seniors have been named to the 2009 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. Centerfielder Cody Kidd (Wellington) and first baseman Riley Kreisher (Ashtabula/ Edgewood) were first-team selections and pitcher Brandon Fredericks (Copley/ Richfield Revere) was an honorable mention pick.

 Kidd, a 2008 ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-American, was a second-team All-OAC selection in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, he ranked fourth in the OAC with a .413 batting average and second with 52 runs scored and led the league with six triples and 23 stolen bases in 26 attempts. Kidd also totaled 13 doubles, three homeruns and 40 runs batted-in. He finished his career as the school's all-time leader in hits (184), runs scored (143), triples (14) and hit-by-pitches (25). He also had more stolen bases (62) and a higher batting average (.387) than any other Yellow Jacket during the 2000s (2000-2009). Kidd was also named B-W's Most Outstanding Male Athlete for the 2008-09 year and is once again eligible for the ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-America process after earning first-team Academic All-District IV honors for a third straight year. 

Kreisher, a 2008 second-team All-OAC pick, led the conference with a B-W single-season record 58 RBI and finished second in the league with 10 homers. He batted .350 with a team-high 14 doubles and scored 33 runs.Kreisher was stellar at first base for the Jackets, committing only one error while registering 306 putouts. For his career, he was a .347 hitter with 16 homers, 130 RBI, 42 doubles and 100 runs scored. He also holds the school career-record with 961 putouts.

Fredericks, B-W's Male Clyde Lamb Award winner, symbolic for the school's most outstanding male student-athlete, earns all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He posted a 5-4 mark and led the team with 52 and two-third innings pitched, three complete games and 32 strikeouts. Fredericks also was named a 2009 second-team ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV selection.

The Yellow Jackets finished the season at 19-19 overall and have had three 19-win seasons in the past four years.
