OBERLIN --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team competed today in the first day of the two-day Oberlin College Fall Invitational Tournament on the Don Hunsinger Courts.  The second day of competition is tomorrow.

In the first round of singles action, sophomore Doug Ganim (Westerville/Olantangy Orange) defeated Kishore Damodaran of Case Western Reserve University by scores of 2-6, 7-5 and 10-3. Senior Brad Minrovic (Akron/Ellet) defeated Amadeus Nunaley-Connor of Allegheny College by scores of 6-2, 6-7 and 10-8. Sophomore Kevin  Fredrick (Archbold) defeated Matt McDivitt of Heidelberg University by scores of 6-4 and 7-5. Freshman Brian Carano (Akron/Revere) defeated Kevin Snyder of Allegheny College by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Junior Letch Radomirov (Fairview Park/Fairview) defeated Tyler Flickinger of Heidelberg University by scores of 7-5 and 6-1. Freshman Brandon Caynor (Norton) defeated Jean Paul Gilbert of Oberlin College by scores of 6-4 and 6-3.

In the second round of singles play, junior Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway) defeated Zach Schwenning of Heidelberg University by scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Sophomore Peter Harris (Akron/Revere) defeated Frank Mosconi of Allegheny College by scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Ganim defeated Gabe Murica of Case Western Reserve University by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Freshman Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) defeated Lucas Brown of Oberlin College by scores of 3-6, 6-3 and 10-6. Freshman Jake Liebler (Medina) defeated McDivitt by scores of 6-4 and 6-0. Fredrick defeated Snyder by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Caynor defeated Flickinger by scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Senior Zach Elbin (Findlay) defeated Parker Oka-Wong of Oberlin College by scores of 7-5 and 6-1. Radomirov defeated Gilbert by scores of 6-0 and 6-0.

In the first round of doublesd play, Harris and Ganim won by a score of 9-8. Patterson and Minrovic won by a score of 8-4. The team Radomirov and Caynor and the team of Katz and Carano both won by the score of 8-5. Elbin and Fredrick won by the score of 8-2. Liebler and freshman Dan Mezin (Brunswick / Lakewood) won by the score of 9-7.

In the Second rounds of doubles action, Patterson and Minrovic won by the score of 8-1. Liebler and Mezin won by the score of 9-8. Elbin and Fredrick won by the score of 8-2.

Following its final day of play at Oberlin, the Yellow Jacket men, 1-0 in dual matches and 53-2 during the past two-plus years, will play a rescheduled dual match against Penn State Behrend (Pa.) University on Monday, Sept. 23 in Erie, Pennsylvania and then end their fall schedule on September 27-30 at the annual ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Fall Central Region Tournament at Kalamazoo College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
