BW Women Third, Men Ninth After Day One of 2010 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team currently stands in third place and the men's team ranks ninth after day one (Friday, February 26) of the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Marietta College at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center in Marietta, Ohio.

On the women's side, Ohio Northern University currently leads with 39 points and is followed by Mount Union College (27), BW (21), Marietta College (20), Otterbein College (14), Heidelberg University and Wilmington College (12), John Carroll University (10) and Capital University (1). 

Ohio Northern also leads in the men's standings with 38 points and is followed by Heidelberg (31), Capital (22), Mount Union (19.5), Otterbein (18.5), John Carroll (17), Wilmington (16), Muskingum (14), Muskingum (8), BW (11) and Marietta (8).

For the BW women, the distance medley relay team placed first in a season-best time of 12:18.30. The team of senior D'Arcy Hlavin (Berea), freshman Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/South), sophomore Julie Kotesovec (Litchfield/Medina Buckeye) and junior Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum) also set a facility record with their time. 

For the women individually, junior Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) placed third in the high jump, clearing a personal-best height of five feet, two and one half inches to earn All-OAC honors.  Freshman Sarah Rospert (Milan/Edison) earned a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:50.54. 

For the men, freshman Jeremy Harris (Beachwood) placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 13'9.75". The men's DMR team of sophomore Tom Wilkin (Powell/Olentangy Liberty), sophomore Dan Sloat (Medina/Senior), senior Jimmy Eberts (North Canton/Hoover) and sophomore Drew Beck (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) finished fourth in a time of 10:37.86.
