Oliver and Price Set School Records with NCAA Qualifying Scores at OWU Pentathlon

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University indoor track and field junior Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) and senior Steve Price (North Olmsted) each broke school records and hit NCAA provisional qualifying marks while competing at the Ohio Wesleyan University pentathlon today (Saturday, February 20, 2010) in Delaware.

Oliver scored 3,247 points to break the old school record of 3,062 points set by Kristen Paulsen in 2006.Oliver's score also ranks fourth in the nation in Division III and gives her a provisonal qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship meet in mid-March. She hit career-bests in the high jump, high hurdles, shot put and 800-meter run.

Price scored 3,404 points and placed second. He is now provisionally qualified for nationals with the 14th best score in the nation.

OliverPrice and the rest of the Yellow Jackets are back in action this Friday and Saturday, February 26-27, at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet hosted by Marietta College at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center in Marietta.
