Oliver Sets Personal Best in Heptathlon at North Central (Ill.) Gregory Multi-Event Invite

BEREA, OHIO -- Junior heptathlete Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) set a personal best with 4,288 points and provisionally qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division III National Meet in the seven-event heptathlon at the North Central (Ill.) Gregory Multi-Event Invitational in Naperville, Illinois on May 18-19.

Oliver's 4,288 points was 158 points better than her previous personal best and placed her fifth in the field. She set personal bests in the 200 meters (27.13 seconds - 701 points), long jump (16 feet, one and three quarter inches - 538 points) and 800-meter run (2:26.33 - 740 points).

She also had performances of 15.75 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles (745 points), 5'0.25" in the high jump (655 points), 29'6" in the shot put (464 points) and 93' in the javelin (445 points). Oliver's 15.75 second timing in the 100-meter hurdles was her best time in that event while competing in the heptathlon.Oliver's score betters her NCAA provisional mark and ranks her 21st in the nation in Division III.
