Bruno Selected as OAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the first time in her career, Baldwin Wallace University senior goalkeeper Emma Bruno (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Bruno led the Yellow Jackets to a perfect 2-0 opening week of the season with wins over non-conference opponents Kenyon College and Nazareth (N.Y.) College. In addition to the two victories, Bruno held her opponents scoreless in 180 minutes of action, earning her 13th and 14th career shutouts. She also played an integral role in BW's claiming of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament Championship this past weekend.

In Friday's 2-0 win over Kenyon, Bruno stopped all four shots she faced. She followed up that performance by making one save the next night in the championship game against Nazareth (N.Y.) for her second consecutive shutout.

The Yellow Jackets will be back on the pitch tomorrow, when they take on Wittenberg University in Springfield at 7 p.m.
