BEREA, Ohio --  Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC guard Audrey Smolik (Strongsville) is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.  

Smolik, who earns her second career OAC weekly honor, led  the Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 record last week, including the title of their own BW Invitational and an 80-62 win versus No.12-ranked Calvin (Mich.) in the championship game.  BW also beat Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve, 89-65 and Defiance, 87-55.  

For the week, Smolik scored 45 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. She made 16-of-26 field goal attempts for 61.5 percent, including 1-of-6 three-pointers, and canned 12-of-14 foul shots (85.7%). She also had two assists and a steal.  At the BW Invitational Tournament last weekend, Smolik scored 36 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to earn Most Valuable Player honors.

In five games this season, Smolik is second in scoring at 13.8 points-per-game and rebounding with 6.0 rpg. She also has five assists, three three-pointers and two steals.

The BW, 4-1 overall, women have won four straight since a 71-70 loss to No.9-ranked Tufts (Mass.) and have won by an average margin of 22.25 points in the four victories.

The Yellow Jackets next play on Wednesday, December 4 when they host Ohio Northern University in their OAC opener in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 pm.  

BW and ONU were selected first and second in this year's OAC Coaches preseason poll. Each team received five first place votes and BW outpointed the Polar Bears, 77-75, in a voting of the coaches.
