BW's Ariel Brough Named ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV

BEREAOHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior center Ariel Brough (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) has been chosen as a first-team 2009 ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV selection. Brough now becomes eligible for the Academic All-America selection process.

Brough is an honors program political science major with a 3.96 grade point average. She has started all 20 games for the Yellow Jackets this season and averaged 8.3 points-per-game and a team-best 7.5 rebounds-per-game. Brough already has totaled 62 blocked shots this season, breaking her own school single-season mark set during the 2007-08 season. She also holds the BW career record for blocks (152) in only her third season.

Brough was named a first-team all-district selection last season as well as a first-team Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick. She has earned BW's Jacket Scholar Award and is a member of the Alpha Lambda, Pi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies.

Brough and the Yellow Jackets, 15-5 overall and 10-3 in the OAC, put their 11-game win streak on the line at rival Wilmington College this Saturday, February 7. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
