Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to Penn State-Behrend in Non-Conference Dual

ERIE, Pennsylvania – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Pennsylvania State University at Behrend in a non-conference dual meet in the Junker Center Pool.

BW (1-3) fell to Penn State-Behrend by a final score of 156-70.

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman diver Zach Pierce (Spring, Texas/Klein Collins) who won two individual events in this afternoon's meet. Pierce was victorious in one-meter dive and three-meter dive with scores of 201.95 and 235.55, respectively.

Also picking up a victory was sophomore All-OAC swimmer Michael Lewis (Lancaster). Lewis garnered a first-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley in 4:26.56.

Junior stroker Michael Morsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Notre Dame Preparatory) finished second in two events. He was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke, with final times of 1:53.37 and 2:06.58, respectively. Also earning second place completions were Lewis and junior Academic All-OAC performer Matthew Butt (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf). Lewis swam to a runner-up spot in the 200-yard breaststroke and Butt's second-place position came following the 50-yard freestyle in 1:53.37.

In relay action, BW's participants of Morsch, Lewis, Butt, and senior All-OAC performer Greg Shaw (Colorado Springs, Colo./Manitou Springs) claimed a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley.

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Friday, November 22, when they travel to nearby Oberlin to compete against Oberlin College in a non-conference dual meet in Carr Pool at 6:00 p.m.
