BEREA, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Ohio Wesleyan University in a non-conference dual meet in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
BW (1-1) fell to Ohio Wesleyan by a final score of 119-109.
The Yellow Jackets were led by All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Michael Lewis (Lancaster) as he won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley in season-best times of 1:00.04 and 2:00.43, respectively.
Also earning victories were senior All-OAC performer Greg Shaw (Colorado Springs, Colo./Manitou Springs) and junior stroker Michael Morsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Notre Dame Preparatory). Shaw captured the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 55.66 seconds. Morsch took first in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 55.78 and also was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley in a season-best time of 2:04.66.
In addition, junior Academic All-OAC performer Matthew Butt (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) took third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:54.45.
In relay action, the 200-yard medley squad of Morsch, Lewis, Shaw and Butt brought home the victory in a time of 1:40.49.
BW is back in action on Friday, November 8 when it travels Alliance for an OAC dual meet against the University of Mount Union at 6 p.m.
