Pierce Places in Top 15 at NCAA Division III Men’s Central Region Diving Championships

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference Champion diver Zachary Pierce (Willis, Texas/Klein Collins) placed 13th in the three-meter diving and 16th in the 1-meter events at the NCAA Division III Central Region Diving Championships hosted by Denison University in the Trumbull Aquatics Center.

The top eight divers in each event qualified for the NCAA Division III Diving National Championships.

Piece finished 13 of 21 divers in the 3-meter and 16 of 21 divers in the 1-meter.  He qualified for the regional after winning the OAC Championship in the 1-meter with a career-best and NCAA Division III B cut total points of 433.95 and the 3-meter with a career-best and NCAA Division III B cut total points of 478.25.

In the 3-meter competition of Friday,  Pierce scored 384.60 points

In the 1-meter competition on Saturday, he scored 361.65 points.
