Men's Swimming and Diving Cages Buffalo State (N.Y.)

SARASOTA, FLA.  – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team defeated Buffalo State University by a final score of 111-68 at the Arlington Park Aquatic Center during its annual winter break training trip.

BW (2-3) was led by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Michael Lewis (Lancaster) as he won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard individual medley in times of 1:04.31 and 56.00 seconds, respectively.

Also earning victories were junior Academic All-OAC performer Matthew Butt (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf), junior stroker Michael Morsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Notre Dame Preparatory), freshman stroker Austin Olsavsky (Medina).

Butt captured the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.42.  Morsch was the champion in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 58.71.  Olsavsky touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:51.61.

In addition, senior All-OAC performer Greg Shaw (Colorado Springs, Colo./Manitou Springs) was the runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.38.

In relay action, the 200-yard medley team of Morsch, Lewis, Shaw and Butt finished first in a time of 1:50.33.  The 200-free squad of Olsavsky, junior freestyler Conner Hartup (Westlake), freshman stroker Nathan Massey (Columbus/Centennial) and freshman stroker Immanuel Ayangoke (Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles Academy) placed second in a season-best time of 1:39.65.
