Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to Mount Union in OAC Dual

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving drop an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet to the University Mount Union in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW men (2-2,1-1 OAC) fell to Mount Union by a final score of 152-90. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman stroker Michael Lewis (Lancaster) as he won the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke in a career-best and BW Natatorium-record 200-IM time of 1:59.60 and a 100-breast time of 1:00.69.

Also earning a victory was junior All-OAC stroker Greg Shaw (Colorado Springs, Colo./Manitou Springs) as he won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.91 seconds.  Shaw also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in a season-best time of 53.22.

In addition, freshman diver Tanner Elenbaas (Aurora, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) was the runner-up in both 1-meter diving events with 161.78 and 136.50 points. Sophomore freestyler Matthew Butt (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 50.66 and took third in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:55.42.  Sophomore stroker Michael Morsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Notre Dame Preparatory) placed second in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 57.60. Sophomore stroker Kyle Cordrey (Mansfield/Ontario) finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:26.18

In relay action, the 200-yard medley relay squad of Morsch Lewis, Shaw and senior stroker John Beyer (Columbus/Centennial) touched the wall first in a time of 1:40.77. The 200-yard freestyle team of

BW closes out its three-meet homestand on Saturday, November 10 when it hosts a non-conference dual meet against Penn State Behrend College at 1p.m.
