Men’s Soccer Drops OAC Game to Wilmington

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference game to Wilmington College by a final score of 2-0 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW Leaders (9-2-1, 0-2-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/ St. Edward) led with six saves.

Wilmington Leaders (7-4-1, 2-1 OAC)

  • Senior midfielder Casey Miller and senior forward Yusef Muqtadir each scored a goal.
  • Senior forward Grant Murray and senior midfielder Jeffry Vasquez each added an assist.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Grimes led with two saves. 

First Half (0-0, Tie)

  • The Quakers led the half with eight shots compared to the Yellow Jacket's three shots.
  • Wilmington led the half with three corner kicks.
  • Nagy led the half with three saves.

Second Half (2-0, Wilmington)

  • Miller scored the first goal of the game off a free kick by Murray in the 57th minute.
  • Muqtadir scored shortly after off an assist from Vasquez.
  • The Quakers led the half with 13 shots.
  • BW led the half with 2 corners.
  • Nagy made three saves in the half. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, October 12 when they travel to University Heights to take on crosstown rival John Carroll University in an OAC game on the Wasmer Field inside Don Shula Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
