Men’s Soccer Falls to Crosstown Rival John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference game against crosstown rival John Carroll University by a final score of 1-0 on the Wasmer Field inside Don Shula Stadium.

BW Leaders (9-3-1, 0-3-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) recorded seven saves.

John Carroll Leaders (8-4-2, 4-0 OAC)

  • Junior forward Patrick Koenig scored the lone goal of the match for the Blue Streaks.
  • Sophomore midfielder Nicholas Graeca was credited with the assist on Koening's decisive goal.
  • Junior goalkeeper Jake Vogrin led with one save while recording a clean sheet.

First Half (1-0 JCU)

  • Koenig gave the Blue Streaks an early lead with a goal in the 16th minute.
  • John Carroll tallied ten shots in the half while holding BW to just one. 
  • Koenig's goal was the only shot on goal that either team recorded in the first half.

Second Half (1-0 JCU)

  • Nagy recorded all seven of his saves in the second half
  • The Blue Streaks outshot the Yellow Jackets, nine to three, in the half

BW is back in action on Saturday, October 15 when it travels to New Concord to take on Muskingum University in an OAC game. First kick is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Muskingum's North Field.
