Surowicz and Nagy Named OAC Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina/Highland) and sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) have been named Offensive and Defensive Midstream Lighting Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week. 

Surowicz earns his first OAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after posting seven goals and one assist this week. He scored at least two goals in every game this week as he posted two goals against Hiram College, three goals against Earlham (Ind.) College and two goals and an assist against Bluffton.

On the season, Surowicz leads the OAC with 10 goals, including four game-winning goals and 23 points. He is also tied for second in the OAC with three assists on the assist. Surowicz has taken 30 shots this season with 20 shots on goal.

For his career, Surowicz has played in 40 games and made 31 starts. He has scored 18 goals, including seven game-winners and added three assists for 77 points. Surowicz has taken 77 shots with 45 shots on goal.

Nagy is tabbed as the OAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career. Nagy gets the honor after starting three games on the week and allowing only one goal and making eight saves. He made one save while allowing zero goals in 70 minutes of action against Hiram, he made one save with no goals allowed in 80 minutes of action against Earlham and he registered six saves with one goal allowed against Bluffton. Nagy was credited with two shutouts.

Nagy leads the OAC in saves with 35, save percentage with .897 and goals allowed average with 0.49 goals allowed per game. He is tied for second in the OAC with only four goals allowed on the season. Nagy has led the Yellow Jackets to a 9-0-1 record in non-conference play.

Nagy has appeared in 21 games and made 20 starts. He has a career-record of 11-7-2 with seven shutouts. He has made 80 career saves while allowing 24 goals. Nagy has a career save percentage of .769 and an 1.17 goals allowed average.

BW is back in action on Saturday, October 1 when it opens OAC play against Marietta College at 7:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.
