Men’s Soccer Drops OAC Game to Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell to Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 5-1 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW Leaders (11-5-2, 2-5-1 OAC)

  • Senior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina/Highland) scored the lone BW goal.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) recorded four saves. 

Ohio Northern Leaders (12-2-3, 7-0-1 OAC)

  • Senior forward Bryan Kern led the Polar Bears with two goals.
  • Senior midfielder Levi King scored one goal and recorded an assist.
  • Sophomore defender Jacob Grant and sophomore midfielder William Shaffer both scored for the Polar Bears.
  • Sophomore forward Ryan Parker was credited with an assist.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Hickley tallied four saves.

First Half (2-1 Ohio Northern)

  • King got Ohio Northern on the board first with a goal in the 30th minute.
  • Surowicz tied the match with his eleventh goal of the season in the 36th minute.
  • Shaffer put the Polar Bears up for good with a goal in the 40th minute. 

Second Half (5-1 Ohio Northern)

  • Kern scored to give Ohio Northern a 3-1 lead in the 58th minute.
  • Seven minutes later, Kern scored his second of the night in the 65th minute.
  • ONU's Grant scored his team's fifth and final goal in the 75th minute.

The Yellow Jackets return to the field for an OAC and Seniors' Day game on Saturday, October 29, when they host Capital University in their final match of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
