Men’s Soccer Drops Seniors’ Day Game to the Comets

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer dropped their Seniors' Day game to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Capital University by a final score of 4-2 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

Prior to the start of the game, BW honored eight senior student athletes, midfielder Kyle Eddy (Lewis Center/Olentangy), Academic All-OAC midfielder Brandon Garibotti (Berea/Berea-Midpark), forward Academic All-OAC Shaheen Ghahremani (Streetsboro), All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Trevor Hamm (Strongsville), midfielder Dylan Keeling (Rocky River), Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Nolan Kellogg (Strongsville), midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina) and defender Reed Watkins (Munster, Ind.).

BW Leaders (11-6-2, 2-6-1 OAC)

  • Junior midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) and freshman forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson) scored the goals for the Yellow Jackets.
  • Junior forward Michael Tusick (Strongsville) added an assist.
  • Kellogg led with seven saves.

Capital Leaders (5-9-2, 4-4-1 OAC)

  • Jack Kossoudji led with two goals.
  • Jack Francisco had the line assist.
  • Connor Sexton led with one save.

First Half (2-0, Capital)

  • Devon Hess got the scoring started off an assist from Francisco.
  • Francisco followed up his assist with a goal in the 27th minute.
  • The Comets led the half with 16 shots.
  • BW had three corner kick opportunities.
  • The Yellow Jackets posted nine saves.

Second Half (4-2, Capital)

  • Kieres got the scoring started in the second half off a feed from Tusick in the 54th minute.
  • Kossoudji scored his first goal 10 minutes later.
  • Kane cut the lead in half in the 71st minute off a through ball from Surowicz.
  • Kossoudji scored the last goal of the game in the 76th minute.

BW closed out the season as they missed the OAC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 11-6-2 and a 2-6-1 mark in the OAC.
