WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer stayed undefeated with a non-conference victory over Waynesburg (Pa.) University by a final score of 4-2 inside the John F. Wiley Stadium.
BW Leaders (6-0-1)
- Sophomore midfielder Tommy Buser (Akron/Revere) led with two goals as he scored his first two goals of the season.
- Junior midfielder Michael Tusick (Strongsville) scored one goal for his second goal of the season.
- Senior Academic All-Ohio Conference midfielder Brandon Garibotti (Berea/Berea-Midpark) scored one goal for his first of the season. He also added an assist for his first assist of the season.
- Sophomore defender Nick Young (Wadsworth) had one assist for his second assist of the season.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) led with three saves.
Waynesburg Leaders (2-3-2)
- Samuel Hawkins scored one goal.
- Luke Griffith scored one goal.
- Tyler Mohrbacher had one assist.
- Michael Franus led with five saves.
First Half (3-0, BW)
- Buser got the scoring started nice and early with a goal just 28 seconds into the game off an assist from Young.
- Buser followed up his first goal with another goal 20 minutes into the half. This time off an assist from Garibotti.
- The final goal of the half came from Tusick off a penalty kick in the 23rd minute.
- BW led the half with 14 shots compared to just three shots from Waynesburg.
- Waynesburg had three corner kick opportunities while BW had two.
- Waynesburg led the half with five saves while BW had three saves on the three shots it faced.
Second Half (4-2, BW)
- Griffith got the scoring in the half started for Waynesburg with a goal in the 50th minute off an assist from Mohrbacher.
- Hawkins scored the second goal of the half for Waynesburg.
- Garibotti added to the BW lead with an unassisted goal with just under four minutes remaining.
- BW led the half with 12 shots compared to the Waynesburg six.
- Waynesburg led the half with seven corner kick opportunities.
- The teams tied the half with one save each.
BW is back in action on Tuesday, September 20 when it hosts a non-conference game against Hirma College at 7:00 p.m. on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.
