Men’s Soccer Drops OAC Match to #15 Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell to #15 nationally ranked Otterbein University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 4-0 in Memorial Stadium.

Otterbein (9-0-2, 3-0 OAC) was able to get the offense started as they got the first shot off a minute into the game. BW (6-7-1, 0-3 OAC) was able to put the pressure on the Cardinals defense as they got off the first shot on goal. The Yellow Jackets were able to outshoot Otterbein 8-7. However, it was the Cardinals that took control with the goals. Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC forward Gabe Sharrock was the first to get the ball in the back of the net in the 21 minute. In the 27 minute, junior All-OAC forward Will Issac put one past the keeper and to extend the lead to 3-0, junior Academic All-OAC midfielder Coby Stover got the last goal of the half. 

In the second half, both teams battled to get offensive chances. Otterbein outshot BW, 6-3. In the 85 minute, the Cardinals were able to add one more with a goal by Joshua Conroy to extend the lead to 4-0. 

In the net for the Yellow Jackets was freshman goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) who had four saves on the eight shots he faced. 

BW is back in action on Wednesday, October 13 when they host Heidelberg in an OAC game on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
