BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team dropped to Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 1-0 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

BW (6-8-1, 0-4 OAC) started the game hot getting the first two shots. However, they were not able to capitalize. Heidelberg (5-6-2, 1-1-2 OAC) was able to get the first shot on goal which resulted in a save. Both teams continued to battle for opportunities. The Yellow Jackets outshot the Student Princes 8-6 as the teams went into the half scoreless.

BW became more aggressive in the second half. The Yellow Jackets gained another advantage in shots by a mark of 8-5. The Heidelberg goalkeeper was pressured throughout the half with five shots on goal. However, neither team could break the scoreless tie as they headed to overtime.

In the first overtime period, BW was able to register another strong offensive showing, outshooting the Student Princes 3-0. The defense held strong like they did throughout the game, limiting the Heidelberg attack. The Yellow Jackets couldn't get the chances to go after 10 minutes and they headed to the second overtime period.

In the second overtime period, both teams got two shots off. However, it was the Student Princes that got their second shot to just go over the keeper's hand and Heidelberg walked out with a 1-0 victory.

In the net for BW was junior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Matt Weaver (Ontario) who made three saves on the four shots he saw.

The Yellow Jackets return to the pitch on Saturday, October 16 when they travel to New Concord to take on Muskingum University in an OAC match on the Muskingum North Field at 1:00 p.m.
