BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team shut out Olivet College (Mich.) in a non-conference match by final score of 4-0 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW's (4-3) offense got off to a fast start, getting multiple shots off in the first few minutes of the match. At 8:13, sophomore forward Michael Tusick (Strongsville) crossed the ball into the box where senior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina / Highland) headed it into the net. Olivet (1-5) had their first shot around the 12-minute mark, but it went wide. Five minutes later, Surowicz scored a second goal for BW off a cross from senior midfielder Attila Nagy Jr. (Lakewood). The Yellow Jacket offense kept the heat on as they looked for more opportunities on goal. BW found success when Tusick tapped a rebound off the goalie into the net, boosting the Yellow Jacket lead to 3-0. The half ended there, with BW outshooting Olivet 15-4.

Olivet came out looking to put a point on the board, getting a few shots off in the first minutes of the half but BW's defensive line held strong. Throughout the half, both teams battled for possession in the midfield. The half went scoreless for 30 minutes until Surowicz finished a rebound shot from senior forward Matt Begin (Springfield, Mass. / Ludlow), completing his first career hat trick. The game ended in a 4-0 victory for the Yellow Jackets.

In the net for BW was freshman Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood / St. Edward) who recorded 2 saves on the 2 shots he faced.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Wednesday, September 22nd when they host Geneva College at 7:00 P.M. on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
