Men’s Soccer Announces Team Awards

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer has announced their team awards from this past season. Seven Players have been honored with awards this season. 

Junior midfielder Brandon Garibotti (Berea/Berea-Midpark) was selected as the team MVP. Garibotti is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference player and was selected Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Academic All-Ohio second team. He appeared in 20 games this season and made 19 starts. Garibotti tallied one assist for one point. He earned his third varsity letter this fall.

Sophomore midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) is the Offensive Player of the Year after leading the team with seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Kieres appeared and started all 20 games this season. He earned his second varsity letter this fall.

Senior All-OAC defender Trevor Hamm (Strongsville) is the Team Defensive Player of the Year and got the Team Captain Award. Hamm is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection and a two-time All-OAC honoree. This past season, he was selected to the OCSA All-Ohio third team and the OCSA Academic All-Ohio first team. Previously, he was OCSA All-Ohio third team as a freshman and the OSCA All-Ohio second team as a sophomore and he also was named team Rookie of the Year in 2018. Hamm appeared and started 19 games and had a career high two goals for four points. He earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.

Freshman midfielder Tommy Buser (Akron/Revere) was named a team Rookie of the Year. Buser appeared in all 20 games and made 12 starts. He was third on the team with three goals and tallied one assist for seven points. He earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Freshman goalie Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) was selected as a team Rookie of the Year. Zoltan Nagy was selected as an OAC defensive player of the week on Septemeber 20. He appeared in and made 12 starts for a team leading 45 saves. Zoltan Nagy also led the team with three shutouts. He earned his first varsity letter this fall.

Senior midfielder Jason Lambert (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) was selected for the Players' Player Award. He appeared in 11 games and made one start. Lambert earned his varsity letter this fall.

Senior midfielder Attila Nagy Jr. (Lakewood) earned the Team Captain Award. Attila Nagy Jr. is a three team Academic All-OAC selection. He also was named to the Spartan-Raven Classic All-Tournament Team in 2018. This season, he appeared in and started all 20 games and was tied for second on the team with two assists for two points. Attila Nagy Jr. earned his fourth varsity letter this fall.
