Men’s Soccer Falls to Geneva (Pa.)

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer fell in a non-conference match to Geneva (Pa.) College by a final score of 1-0 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

The BW (5-4) offense came out firing once again. They accounted for the first three shots of the game. However, at the 14-minute mark Geneva (2-3-2) got a chance and hit the back of the net. Sophomore forward Carnel Kerr finished off the best chance of the night for the Golden Tornadoes. The Yellow Jackets offense got off two more shots in the half but trailed 1-0 going into the halftime.

The second half was tightly contested with both teams getting off five shots. However, it was the Yellow Jackets offense that made the most of the opportunities putting three shots on goal to the Geneva zero shots on goal. Ultimately, both back lines held strong, and the game ended 1-0 with Geneva on top.

In the goal for BW was junior goalkeeper JT Brenneman (Willoughby/Wickliffe) who made two saves on the three shots he faced.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Earlham, Ind to take on Earlham College at 3:30 p.m. in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
