BEREA, Ohio –  Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Wayne Schneider, the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team will look to its veterans to go par for the course in the Ohio Athletic Conference in 2018-19.

Schneider welcomes back 11 letterwinners and all of his top five golfers from last year's team that finished sixth at the OAC Championships.

Of the top five returners, two are juniors and two are sophomores. Junior Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) is the leading returner with a stroke average of 77.09 and two separate medalist finishes. Senior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) and sophomore Drake Tobias (Macedonia/Nordonia) shot 78.05 and 78.76 strokes per round, respectively, for the second- and third-best averages. Junior Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) and sophomore Blake Glista (Beloit/West Branch) round out the top-five returners with averages of 79.89 and 83.84 strokes per round.

Added leadership will also come from seniors Brad Blaine (Brooklyn), Academic All-OAC selection Brandon Fatsie (North Olmsted), Tommy Glenn (Avon), Jack Kyle (Bay Village), Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) and Brayton Thornburg (Columbus, Ind./North). Sophomore Jared Budner (Macedonia) returns for his second season on the greens as well after posting an 85.84 stroke average as a freshman.

Joining the Yellow Jackets on the links this season are freshmen Dylan Boff (Broadview Heights/North Royalton), Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls), Jordan Green (Shelby), Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge), Roni Shin (Rocky River) and Connor Thomas (Medina/Buckeye).

As the collegiate golf season is split into a fall and a spring schedule, BW opens the 2018-19 campaign at the two-day Gatorade Collegiate Classic, hosted by the College of Wooster Sept. 1-2 at the Zoar Village Golf Course in Lawrence.
