Schneider Named OAC Coach of the Year

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University head men's golf coach Wayne Schneider has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

In his fifth year at the helm, Schneider led the Yellow Jackets to one of their best seasons in recent history. BW won six separate tournaments across the entire 2018-19 season, which was the most in program history, and recorded three other top-three team finishes. Two Yellow Jackets in freshman All-OAC performer Roni Shin (Rocky River) and junior Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) earned three combined medalist honors throughout the course of the season while Shin, Ladaika and senior All-OAC performer Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) each received OAC Player of the Week honors.

At the 2019 OAC Championships, BW placed second with three All-OAC performers – junior Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted), Miller and Shin. The runner-up finish is the highest mark the Yellow Jackets have achieved since the 2013-14 season when BW was crowned OAC champions.
