Men’s Golf Wins Fourth Invitational of Fall, Captures OAC Fall Preview

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio –The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team won its fourth invitational of the fall as it captured the 27-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Preview Invitational hosted by John Carroll University at the River Greens Golf Course. 

BW was first of five teams with 445 strokes on the par-72 and 6,866 River Greens-layout.  The University of Mount Union was the runner-up with 467 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) as he was the runner-up with rounds of 74 and 37 for a total of 109.  Junior Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) fired rounds of 75 and 37 for a total of 112.  Freshman Connor Thomas (Medina/Buckeye) carded rounds of 76 and 38 for a total of 114.  Freshman Roni Shin (Rocky River) posted rounds of 79 and 35 for a total of 114.  Rounding out the top five was senior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) as he tallied rounds of 75 and 40 for a total of 115.

Playing as individuals were seniors Brad Blaine (Brooklyn), Brandon Fatsie (North Olmsted), Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) and Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview), sophomore Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) and freshmen Dylan Boff (Broadview Heights/North Royalton), Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls), Jordan Green (Shelby) and Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge).

Bratsch led the individuals with a career-low round of 73 and 39 for a total of 112. Boff fired rounds of 82 and 42 for a total of 124. Kyle carded rounds of 85 and 39 for a total of 124.   Newbould posted rounds of 88 and 39 for a total of 127.  Budner tallied rounds of 85 and 48 for a total of 133. Fatsie had rounds of 88 and 45 for a total of 133. Green had shot of 92 and 42 for a total of 134.  Blaine recorded rounds of 91 and 45 for a total of 136. Morris had rounds of 92 and 47 for a total of 139.

BW closes out the fall portion of its schedule on Friday and Saturday, October 5-6 when it competes in the OAC Fall Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University at the Colonial Golfers Club.
