Shin Co-Medalist, Men's Golf Places Third in Rain Shortened Nye Intercollegiate

WOOSTER, Ohio- Freshman Roni Shin (Rocky River) was the co-medalist as the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team strung together a third place finish at the Nye Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.

The invitational was originally scheduled for 36-holes but was shortened to just 27-holes due to heavy rain throughout the day at the 6,545-yard course.

The Yellow Jackets finished third out of 11 teams with a total score of 456. Denison University won the invitational after registering a total score of 437.

BW was led by freshman Roni Shin (Rocky River), who finished tied for first place, after finishing even on 108 shots, highlighted by a tournament-low 34 shots today. Junior Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) was the next placer for the Yellow Jackets after finishing tied for seventh with a total score of 113. Senior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) was right behind Clark with a total score of 114, six over par.

Juniors Ben Ladaika (Eria, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) and Steven Newbould rounded out the finishers for the Yellow Jackets. Ladaika fired a 124 and Newbould finished with a total score of 134.

BW will wrap up their regular season when they host the BW Invitational on April 20 at the Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley, Ohio. Championship play will begin on April 26-27 when the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship tees off on the County Club of Hudson.
