Men’s Golf Ties for Third at Pfeiffer Invitational in Spring Season Opener

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. –The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule as it finished in a tie for third place at the Pfeiffer Invitational at the Club at Hilton Head Lakes on its annual spring break trip.

BW tied for third of eight teams with a two-day total of 630 strokes on the par-72 and 6,650-yard Hilton Head Lakes layout.  Mars Hill (N.C.) University was the champion with 598 strokes. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) as he fired rounds of 74 and 76 to finish fifth of 46 golfers with a two-round total of 150.  Junior Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) tied for 10th after he carded rounds of 78 and 80 for a two-day total of 158.  Freshmen Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls) posted rounds of 76 and 88 for an invitational total of 164. Senior Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) tallied rounds of 86 and 78 for a two-round total of 164.  Rounding out the top five was senior Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) as he recorded rounds of 82 and 86 for a total of 168.

Playing as individuals were seniors Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) and Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview), sophomore Jared Budner (Macedonia/Nordonia) and freshmen Dylan Boff (Broadview Heights/North Royalton) and Steven Newbould (Parma/Valley Forge). 

Boff led individuals with rounds of 82 and 83 for a two-day total of 165.  Budner posted rounds of 81 and 89 for a two-round total of 170.  Morris carded two rounds of 85 for a total of 170.   Blaine tallied rounds of 90 and 81 for an invitational total of 171.   Newbould had rounds of 98 and 81 for a total of 179.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 30 when they travel to West Lafayette to compete in the 27-hole John Carroll University Invitational at the River Greens Golf Course.
