SPORTS PLAYED AT BW (YEARS AND LETTERS WON): As a freshman in 2011, Sam competed in his first season of football for the Yellow Jackets and earned his first certificate of participation. 

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Sam is off to a solid start to his football career thus far. B-W has recorded an 8-2 record following his first season in the Brown & Gold. He recieved playing time on the junior varsity as a freshman and will compete to earn a starting job at quarterback in the future.

As a freshman in 2011, Sam competed in his first season of football for the Yellow Jackets and saw playing time on the junior varsity as a quarterback.

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PLAYED (YEARS & LETTERS EARNED): Sam played four years of football, wrestled for four years, and ran one year of track. Sam eanrd four varsity letters in football, four in wrestling, and one in track.

HIGH SCHOOL HONORS, SPECIFY SPORT & YEAR: (ALL-CONFERENCE, DISTRICT,  ETC.): Sam recieved multiple accolades on the mat and on the football field for the way he performed in football and wrestling during his sophomore, junior and senior years. In football, as a sophomore he was named as a second-team All-Cuyahoga Valley Conference performer. As a junior he was named a first-team All-CVC member.

As a senior Sam had an outstanding season that earned him six awards following the season. They included being named as a first-team All-CVC, first-team All-District and honorable mention All-State selections. Sam was named the All-Sun Player-of-the-Year, as well as a receiving other  All-Offensive honors from the Sun Newspapers. Sam was named the Cleveland Browns: Game of the Week Most Valuable Player on September 10, 2010. For his team awards, Sam was given the team MVP, and was a team captain during his senior year. Sam holds four school records including rushing yards in a game with 286, passing yards in a game with 254, passing yards in a career with 3,297 and combined passing and rushing yards in a career with 6,133. For all the accolades mentioned above, Sam was the recipient of the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Assoication Cleveland Clinic Scholarship.

In wrestling, Sam was named as a second-team All-CVC wrestler following his junior and senior seasons. Also during his junior and senior years, Sam was a team captain as he was near the top of the team every year in wins as he finished with over 100 in his career. Sam also qualified for the state tournament as a senior.
