SPORTS PLAYED AT BW (YEARS AND LETTERS WON): As a junior in 2011-12, Tyler competed in his third season of football and earned his second varsity letter.
ATHLETIC HONORS: As a junior in 2011, Tyler was named as the OAC Offensive Player of the Week on October 8, when he ran for 123 yards in a career-high 28 attempts and scored on runs of three, 11 and two yards to help the Yellow Jackets to a 27-21 win at Otterbein.
GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Tyler has had a solid football career thus far. B-W has recorded a 18-12 record during his three seasons in the Brown & Gold. For his career, Tyler has earned two varsity letters, as he has appeared in 18 varsity games over his three seasons. Offensively, Tyler has rushed for 940 yards on 195 attempts with seven TDs and is averaging 4.8 yards-per-carry. He also has caught five passes for 28 yards and is averaging 5.6 yards-per-catch. On special teams, Tyler has returned one kickoff for 40 yards and five puts for 23 yards. He is averaging 4.6 yards per-punt return

As a junior, he was again second-team All-PTC and second-team All-District but was Kent Roosevelt'ss Offensive Most Valuable Player. As a senior, he was first-team All-PTC, second-team All-District, team MVP, team captain, team Coaches Award and earned the Greater Akron Touchdown Club Award. In baseball, he was Rookie of the Year as a freshman, and won the Hustle Award as a sophomore. As a junior, he was second-team All-PTC and second-team All-District. As a senior, he was Ravenna Record Courier Athlete of the Month and was a team captain.
