BALDWIN WALLACE INFORMATION:

SPORTS PLAYED AT BW (YEARS AND LETTERS WON): As a senior in 2011, Derron played his fourth season of football and earned his earned his second varsity letter. As a junior in 2010, Derron competed in his third season of football and earned his first varsity letter. 

ATHLETIC HONORS: Derron earned Beyond Sports College Network (BSN) and OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on October 3, 2011 for his performance in a 17-7 victory at Marietta College (a career-high 11 tackles and 3.5 QB sacks). Following his senior season, Derron was selected as a first-team defenisve end for both OhioCollegeFootball.com (www.ohiocollegefootball.com) as well as the OAC. This was his first selection to both teams.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION:Derron had a solid four-year football career. B-W had a 23-17 record during his four seasons in the Brown & Gold. He earned two varsity letters, recorded 75 career tackles, including 31 solo, 18.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two recovered fumbles and had 12 pass deflections.

As a freshman in 2008, Derron played his first season of football.  He saw playing time at defensive end on the junior varsity squad.

As a sophomore in 2009, Derron played in his second season of football.  He saw playing time at DE on the junior varsity and varsity teams. He appeared in three varsity games at DE or on special teams and was credited with two tackles.

As a junior in 2010, Derron played in all 10 regular season games. He totaled 34 tackles, including five stops for negative yardage and 4.5 quarterback sacks. He also deflected five passes and forced two fumbles. B-W finished 7-3 overall.   

As a senior in 2011, Derron played his fourth season of football and was the starting defensive end for the Yellow Jackets.  He finished the season with 39 total tackles, led the Ohio Athletic Conference and finished third in NCAA Division III in QB sacks with 11 and tops the team and OAC with 15 tackles for lost yardage. Derron earned Beyond Sports College Network (BSN) and OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on October 3, 2011 for his performance in a 17-7 victory at Marietta College (a career-high 11 tackles and 3.5 QB sacks).
