BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College junior right-handed baseball pitcher Josh Scott (Strongsville)has been named as both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and D3baseball.com National Division III Pitcher of the Week. Scott earned his honor for being the fourth baseball pitcher in BW school history to throw a no-hitter when the Yellow Jackets defeated Ohio Christian University, 12-0, on Saturday, March 19.

Against OCU, Scott pitched seven innings and struck out six without allowing a walk. He improved his season record to 2-0 overall and lowered his earned run average to a team-leading 1.72 overall. His perfect bid effort was derailed by an error and a passed ball on a third strike in the third inning. OCU only just two baserunners as another reached via an error in the seventh frame. Scott's no-hitter was the fourth school history and the first since Aaron Krieger no-hit Ohio Northern University in 2005.

Scott was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets (8-4 overall) are back in action on Saturday, March 26 when they host non-league foe Malone University in a doubleheader at Heritage Field in Berea at 1:00 p.m.  B-W plays eight of its next 10 games at home, including facing perennial NCAA Division III powers The College of Wooster (March 31 at 4:00 pm), Ohio Athletic Conference rival and No.4-ranked Marietta College (April 2 at 1:00 pm) and OAC-rival Otterbein University (April 5 at 1:00 pm).
