B-W Sophomore Outfielder Brendan Toughey Named Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore baseball outfielder Brendan Toughey (East Amherst, N.Y./St. Josephs Collegiate Institute) has been named honorable mention Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in recognition of his dual academic and athletic excellence. This is Toughey's first Academic All-OAC selection.

Toughey, who carries a 3.94 grade point average in business administration and accounting and will earn an MBA  degree in B-W's 3/2 program, started in the outfield for the 17-17 Yellow Jackets. He is on the Dean's List, a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies and a Jacket Scholar.  Tougheywas also named as third-team CoSIDA/ CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District IV. 

Despite missing 11 games due to an injury, Toughey batted .295 (23-for-78) with 18 runs scored, three doubles, one triple, one homerun, 11 RBI and seven steals in seven attempts.  In two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he is batting .271 (38-140) with 34 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, one homer, and 18 RBI. Toughey is a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen bases and has compiled a .364 slugging percentage and a .387 on-base percentage to go along with a .948 average in the field.
