No. 7 Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Finishes Fourth at Greater Cleveland Championships

BEREA, Ohio – The seventh-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field teams finished fourth at the Greater Cleveland Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

The Yellow Jackets were fourth of six teams with 52 points.  Oberlin College won the meet with 175 points.

BW was led by junior multi-event athlete Rachel Holowecky (Amherst/Firelands) as she tied for second in the long jump, took second in the 55-meter hurdles and was sixth in the 200-meter dash.  Holowecky had a season-best mark of 16'1" in the long jump and had career-best time of 9.02 in the 55-meter hurdles and career-best time of 27.89 in the 200-meter dash. 

In addition, junior hurdler Lyndsay Armstrong (Ashtabula/Geneva) won the 55-meter hurdles in a career-best time of 8.72. Senior indoor All-American thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) was second in the shot put with a season-best mark of 45'1". Junior thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) was third in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put.  Clouse had a mark of 50'8" in the weight throw and a mark of 37'1.75"in the shot put. Senior All-OAC thrower Maggey Urban (Cleveland/St. Joseph's Academy) was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 49'6.25".  Sophomore jumper Rachel Tucker (Canton/McKinley) was fifth in the triple jump with a career-best mark of 32'11.75". Sophomore distance runner Maeve Christie (Lakewood) took fifth in the 800-meter in a time of 2:40.61. Junior sprinter Jasmine Moore (Cleveland Heights) placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in a career-best time of 1:04.52. Freshman sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina) placed eighth in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.76. 

Select members of the Yellow Jacket indoor track and field teams will compete in the Kent State University Tune-Up inside the Kent State Field House at 10 a.m.

The Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Marietta College will be contested on Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27 in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.  Events begin on Friday at 12 p.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
