BEREA, Ohio –
Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field senior All-American Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) and junior All-American high jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/ Marion Steele) have been selected as 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Track & Field Academic All-Americans. The pair lifts BW to six total Academic All-Americans for the 2015-2016 academic calendar and ties for the most in a single season in school history.

Winters was a first-team selection and Kasper was a third-team selection. The two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans give Baldwin Wallace 104 all-time selections and is the most of any Ohio Athletic Conference or NCAA Division III school in the state of Ohio and is tied for 12th nationally among Div. III colleges and universities. The two standouts advanced to the national ballot after each was selected as first-team CoSIDA Division III Academic All-District 7.

Winters is BW's most celebrated women's student-athlete in school history. She carried a 3.45 grade point average in English and creative writing. Winters was a 13-time NCAA Division III All-American who captured the Division III national titles, including one this winter (long jump) when she helped BW win the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National title and two more this spring (100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash) when she led the Yellow Jackets to a runner-up finish at the national meet. She also is one of 11 finalists for the 2016 Division III Honda Athlete of the Year. Winters holds 13 BW school records, was a 12-time OAC outdoor and 12-time OAC indoor champion. She also owns eight OAC Championship records and was a four-time OAC Most Valuable Performer and three-time United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Great Lakes Regional Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Kasper was an NCAA Division III All-America indoors this winter in the high jump and competed at this spring's NCAA Div. III Outdoor National Championship Meet. The two-time Academic All-OAC selection carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average in exercise science. Kasper, both an All-OAC performer indoors and outdoors, is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of multiple honoraries. This spring, she also received BW's Academic Excellence Award for juniors and for her perfect 4.0 grade average.
