Winters and Kasper Named CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 in Track and Field

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior five-time outdoor and five-time indoor All-American multi-event athlete Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and NCAA national qualifier jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 track and field and cross country team. Winters and Kasper now qualify for the CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America ballot.

Winters, who is competing in five events at this week's NCAA Championships, earns her first earns first All-District 7 honor. She carried a 3.45 grade point average in English and creative writing. Winters  is a 12-time outdoor Ohio Athletic Conference champion and a 12-time outdoor All-OAC performer.   She is the indoor OAC-record holder in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and long jump as well as the indoor BW-record holder in the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles, 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, high jump, long jump and the pentathlon.   Winters  is the outdoor OAC-record holder in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and the long jump as well as the outdoor BW-record holder in the 200-meter dash, heptathlon, high jump, long jump and a member of the 4x100-meter relay. She was the 2016 indoor national champion in the long jump and is a five-time indoor All-American.

Kasper, a two-year letterwinner and an Academic All-OAC selection, garners her first earns first All-District 7 accolade. She carries a 4.00 grade point average in exercise science.  Kasper is competing this week in her first NCAA Outdoor Championships.   She is an All-OAC outdoor performer and a two-time All-OAC indoor performer both in the high jump.   Kasper  earned her first indoor All-American honor in the high jump at this year's national meet.   She is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar
