Six Women's Track and Field Members Compete at Homon Open Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Six members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the unscored Homon Open Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.

The two-day event was postponed from Friday and Saturday until Sunday due to weather conditions.

The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore thrower Madeline Ziccardi (Cuyahoga Falls) was seventh in the shot put, eighth in the hammer throw and 16th in the discus.   Ziccardi had a career-best mark of 34 feet and nine inches in the shot, a mark of 119'3" in the hammer and a mark of 83'7 in the discus. 

In addition, junior thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) finished fifth in the discus with a season-best mark of 108'11".  Junior thrower Natasha Thomas (Cleveland/Holy Name) was sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 123'3".  Senior jumper Abby Snow (Massillon/Jackson) took seventh in the javelin throw with a mark of 99'4".   Sophomore thrower Madison Phillips (Norwalk/St. Paul) was 13th in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 115'2".  Sophomore distance runner Maeve Christie (Lakewood) finished 30th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.80.

BW is back in action on Saturday, April 16 when it travels to Delaware to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track.
