Select Members of the Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Compete at Kent State Tune-Up

KENT, Ohio – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Kent State Tune-Up hosted by NCAA Division I Kent State University inside the Kent State Field House.

The meet consisted mainly of NCAA Division I and II institutions as well as some NCAA Division III schools.

The BW women were led by senior indoor All-American Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) as she was the runner-up in the weight throw and placed fourth in the shot put.  Gallavan had a mark of 60'8.75" in the weight throw and a season-best mark of 45'3.75" in the shot put.

In addition, junior jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) finished third in the high jump with a mark of 5'5". Junior thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) was 14th in the weight throw with a mark of 50'0.75". Senior All-OAC thrower Maggey Urban (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) finished 15th in the weight throw with a mark of 59'10". Junior hurdler/sprinter Lyndsay Armstrong (Ashtabula/Geneva) finished 23rd in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.56 seconds.  Senior sprinter Kelsey Nemeth (Medina) was 30 in the 200-meter dash and 31st in the 60-meter dash. Kelsey had times of 26.83 and 8.20, respectively.  Freshman sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina) was 35th in the 200-meter dash and 37th in the 60-meter dash.  Grace had times of 27.90 and 8.40, respectively.  She ran a career-best time of 8.32 seconds in the prelims.

The BW indoor track and field teams are back in action on Friday and Saturday, February 26 and 27 when it travels to Marietta to compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Marietta College inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Friday's events begin at 12 p.m. with Saturday's events slated for a 10 a.m. start.
