Volleyball Team Sweeps Otterbein for Second Straight Conference Win

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team swept Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein College this evening (Tuesday, October 21, 2008) at the Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea. The Yellow Jackets won by scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-20.

The win improves B-W's record to 11-16 overall and 2-5 in the OAC.  Otterbein falls to 8-19 overall and 2-5 in the OAC.

B-W was led offensively by senior middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y. / Mt. St. Mary Academy) with nine kills and freshman outside hitter Nicole Schoen (Bellevue) also with nine.  In addition, sophomore setterCasey Passen (Ashville/ Teays Valley) recorded 26 set assists.

On defense, sophomore Lissy Grame (Berea) led with 19 digs, and was followed by freshman Chelsea Nissen (Williston / Genoa) with 10.  DePeters had three block solos to lead the team.

B-W will return to action Saturday, October 25 for Senior and Parent's Day versus Muskingum College. The match, which will close out the 2008 home schedule for the Jackets, is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. in Berea.
