Volleyball Team Loses to Muskingum, 3-1, in Berea on Senior Day

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Muskingum College, 3-1, today (Saturday, October 25, 2008) in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium of the Lou Higgins Center on Senior and Parent's Day in Berea.

With its loss, B-W falls to 11-17 overall overall and 2-6 in the OAC.  With its victory, the Fighting Muskies improve to 20-5 overall and 4-3 in the OAC.

B-W was led offensively by freshman middle hitter Chelsea Nissen (Williston/ Genoa) with 15 kills, freshman outside hitter Nicole Schoen (Bellevue) had 14 and senior middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y.) had 11.  In addition, sophomore setter Casey Passen (Ashville/ Teays Valley) recorded 48 set assists.

On defense, three players recorded double-digits digs.  Sophomore Lissy Grame (Berea) led with 21 digs and was followed by Nissen with 15 and Schoen with 10. DePeters had four blocks to lead the team.

B-W will return to action on Tuesday, October 28 when it travels to Ada, Ohio to play first place Ohio Northern University in an OAC match at 7:00 p.m.
