BW Swimmers and Divers Lose to ONU

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team lost in a dual meet competition today to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern University on Seniors' & Parents' Day in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center.  This was the final home meet of the season for the Yellow Jackets.

The BW women lost to ONU, 131-82, to fall to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the OAC.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jacket women was senior Angela Musille (Canton / GlenOak) who won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.60. Also winning for the women was the 400-yard medley relay team in 4:12.48. The team consisted of senior Emma Gerdes (Avon), sophomore Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon), junior Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich. / Plymouth-Canton) and Musille.

In diving, freshman Brianna Kljun (Columbia Station / Magnificat) won the 1-meter voluntary with a score of 170.40 points. Sophomore Maddie Fortune (Akron/Firestone) won the 1-meter voluntary dive with 194.30 points.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 25 when they travel to University Heights to compete against OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University at 1:00 p.m.

BW also is the host school for the 2013-2014 OAC Championship Meet from February 13-15 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
