Women Swimmers Win a Pair at Cleveland City Duals

HIRAM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving teams defeated Hiram College, 323-210, and defeated NCAA Division II Notre Dame College of Ohio, 290-198, in the third and final round of the Second Annual Cleveland College Dual Meet Championships in the Alumni Memorial Pool.  BW finished with a 3-1 record in the duals.

The Yellow Jacket women won by scores of 162-115 to Notre Dame and 190-103 to Hiram.

The women were led by sophomore Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) as she won the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 2:18.4, 200-meter butterfly in 2:50.89 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:14.2. Senior All-OAC Angela Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:21.89, 200-meter breaststroke in 2:57.32 and the 400-meter IM in 5:41.74. Freshman diver Brianna Kljun (Columbia Station /Magnificat) won the 1-meter dive with a score 224. In the 3-meter diving event, freshman Alice Clark (Fairview Park/Fairview) won with a score of 196.4. The 200 meter medley relay of senior Emma Gerdes (Avon), Musille, senior Kayla Miller (Van Wert) and Ashbaugh won in a time of 2:10.13.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 16 when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania for a non-league dual meet at Penn State Behrend University at 1 p.m. The next home meet is on December 14 when BW women host NCAA Division II Ursuline University in the BW Natatorium 12 p.m..
