BW Women's Swim Team Won at Penn State Behrend

ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA – The Baldwin Wallace University women's  swimming and diving team defeated host Penn State Behrend (Pa.) University today in the Junker Center.

The Yellow Jacket women beat the Lions, 145-69.  With the win, the BW women are now 5-2 overall.

The women were led by freshman Becca Weil (Ypsilanti, Mich./ Milan) who won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:35.29. Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Angela Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) placed first in the 200 free in 2:04.08. Senior Caitlin Wilson (Wycombe, Pa./ Council Rock North) won the 400-yard individual medley in 5:16.74 and placed second in the 500 free in 5:55.67. Sophomore Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) placed first in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.73. Junior Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich./ Plymouth-Canton) won the 100 free in 57.48 seconds. Senior Emma Gerdes (Avon) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.36. Freshman Alice Clark (Fairview Park/ Fairview) won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 238.65 points.

The 400-yard medley relay team consisting of Gerdes, Musille, Ashbaugh and Eyster finished first in 4:19.85 and the 400 free relay team of Weil, Ashbaugh, Gerdes and Musille won in 3:57.78.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 23 when they travel to Alliance, Ohio for a 1:00 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference dual match versus the University of Mount Union. The next home meet is on December 14 when BW women host NCAA Division II Ursuline University in the BW Natatorium 12 p.m.
