Yellow Jacket Women Swimmers Lose at Case

UNIVERSITY CIRCLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team lost in dual meet competition to Cleveland cross-town and non-league rival Case Western Reserve University in the Veale Center.  This was the final dual meet of the regular season for the Yellow Jackets.

The BW women lost to the Case women, 174-123, to end the regular season at 7-6 overall.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jacket women was senior Emma Gerdes (Avon) who won the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 28.16. She also won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.24.

Also winning for BW, freshman Becca Weil (Ypsilanti, Mich. / Milan) who won the 1650-yard freestyle in a time of 19:39.86. Senior Angela Musille (Canton / GlenOak) won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:13.00. Sophomore Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:59.00. 

In diving events freshman Alice Clark (Fairview Park/ Fairview) won the 1-meter diving event with 223.40 points and set a career-best in the 3-meter event with 248.40 points.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action from Thursday through Saturday, February 13-15 when BW is the host school for the 2013-2014 OAC Championship Meet at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.  You can access the meet schedule, including starting times for both preliminary and final competition at http://www.bwyellowjackets.com/sports/mswimdive/2013-14/schedule.
