BW Women Beat Division II Ursuline, 119-64,

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team defeated NCAA Division II Ursuline College, 119-64, in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center.

With its victory, the BW women improve to 6-3 overall and are now idle until their annual winter break trip to Sarasota, Florida from January 3-11.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Angela Musille (Canton/GlenOak) who placed first in the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle races with times of 11:11.33 and 5:30.42, respectively.

Also for BW in swimming events, freshman Carly Croyle (Avon) won the 200 free in 2:12.10, sophomore Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.89 and junior Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich./Plymouth-Canton) won the 100 free in 58.81 seconds.

In diving, sophomore Maddie Fortune (Akron/Firestone) placed first in the 1-meter voluntary (six dives) event with a score of 182.90 points and freshman Alice Clark (Fairview Park/Fairview) won the 1-meter championship (eleven dives) event with a score of 292.15 points.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action when they travel to Sarasota, Florida and compete against Transylvania (Ky.) on January 4, 2014.  The next home meet is on Saturday, Jan. 18 when BW hosts OAC rival Ohio Northern University on Seniors' & Parents' Day at 1:00 p.m.
