Women Swimmers Fall To Oberlin at Cleveland City Duals

OBERLIN, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving teams was defeated by Oberlin College  in the first round of the Cleveland City Duals in the Carr Pool on the campus of Oberlin.

The Yellow Jacket women, who are now 0-3 overall, was defeated by the Yeowomen, 153-84.

BW was led by junior Angela Musille (Canton /GlenOak) who won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:09.91 and captured second in the 200-yard IM as she touched the finish line at 2:21.91.   Senior six-time NCAA Division III All-American senior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) who won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with point totals of 270.53 and 246.45 respectively.  

In addition to Musille and Pinter, three other women finished as a runner-up.  Junior Emma Gerdes (Avon) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.71, freshman Maddie Fortune (Akron/Firestone) took second in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 197.78 and junior Caitlin Wilson (Wycombe, Pa. /Council Rock North) took second in the 1000-yard freestyle as she touched the finish line at 12:05.70

The Yellow Jackets will travel back to Oberlin tomorrow to face Hiram College  in the second round of the Cleveland City Duals in the Carr Pool at 11:00 a.m.  Hiram's men and women both fell to College of Wooster in the first round earlier today.
